Vienna Gay Guide

Vienna is much more than classical music and palaces; it's a massive, pulsating playground for queer nightlife. Whether you're here to dance until sunrise, find a new community, or explore the city's darker corners, here is everything you need to survive and thrive during a Circus weekend.

The Home Base: The Queer Area

If you want to be in the middle of the action, drop your bags near the Naschmarkt / Wienzeile area (spanning the 4th and 6th districts). This is Vienna's historical and modern gay hub. It's packed with bars and cafes, making it the perfect launchpad for your night out.

Getting Around (The Night Tube)

Vienna's public transport is legendary. On Friday and Saturday nights (and nights before public holidays), the U-Bahn runs continuously all night long. Combined with a dense network of night buses, you can always get from the dance floor to your hotel bed safely and cheaply.
